The Ministry of Health (MoH) just announced its updated protocols for close contact, reducing restrictions for those who have gotten their booster shot. From 1 March 2022 onwards, individuals aged 18 and above, who have made close contact with a Covid-19 positive case, and without any symptoms, are no longer required to self-isolate (Home Surveillance Order).
However, all individuals who are labelled as close contact must conduct a Covid-19 self-test on day 1 and day 3. According to the MoH, close contacts (boosted) with symptoms on day 1, must self-isolate for 5 days.
Individuals who are fully vaccinated but without a booster will still need to go through 5 days of isolation, while close contacts who are not fully vaccinated need to self-isolate for 7 days. That said, all close contacts will need to self-monitor and report their Covid-19 self-test result via MySejahtera by attaching a photo in the app.
Individuals who tested positive with mild or no symptoms are not required to go to the Covid-19 assessment centre (CAC), but will need to declare themselves in MySejahtera and receive a digital Home Surveillance Order (HSO).
